Forestdale Football Club were gifted the chance to take part in a session which was recorded by The Boot Room, run by the Football Association. The football session was an hour long delivered by the Surrey County Coach Developer, Peter Augustine. The children thoroughly enjoyed the session. The practice was focused on goalkeeping and encouraging goalkeepers to be brave and dictate phases of play. Thank you to Horsley Football Club for hosting the event on the amazing 4G pitch.

We Are Building Strong Relationships!

Forestdale Football Club are now officially a feeder club to AFC Wimbledon.
This means, players who play well in training and on match day consistently could get a chance to trial for a spot within the AFC Wimbledon Academy. Going forward we will play games against their academy regularly. This will give Forestdale Football Club players exposure into the professional game.

Last week our U8s, U9s and U10s all headed down to The Den to play our first ever match with an academy team. Our U10s were first up with their match on the Tuesday and our U8s and U9s followed on the Thursday. This was a highly anticipated fixture among us all, one that I’m sure many of us were counting down to with excitement, and the experience did not disappoint!

As a club we played exceptionally well and really held our own against the Millwall players. All three teams were compact and it was clear to see some well thought out decisions being made which was absolutely fantastic. Skills that we have been working on in training were well displayed and executed on the pitch. As expected the level of ability we were up against was very high but we defended well. When we conceded goals, we learned from it straight away and let it drive our performance to work in our favour. Even better, we showcased our own talent and scored a good amount of goals against Millwall as well.

We had a great atmosphere among parents and all those that came to support as well which created a really memorable experience to have in our first year together as a club. Additionally, we received great feedback on our performance from the Millwall coaches. All in all it was two fantastic evenings out and the players did themselves and the club proud by putting in a tremendous performance.
